Location: Canada Saskatchewan Production Studios, Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada

Film Production: SPACE MILKSHAKE (feature film) Four blue collar astronauts are stuck together on a Sanitation Station after they bring a mysterious device aboard their ship and all life on Earth disappears. Discovering what happened to civilization is only the first of many galactic-level crises the astronauts will have to face as they are about to come under attack by a mutating rubber duck named Gary, who wants to open a portal to his evil dimension and take over the Universe.

Challenge: Find purpose-built production stages that have great production incentives and a solid crew base.

Solution: Saskatchewan offers up to 55% tax credit on labour and incredible production stages, offices and crews. The purpose-built, state-of-the-art Canada Saskatchewan Production Studios are located in Regina and are the largest and most comprehensive production facilities in Western Canada.

“I found the crews and facilities in Saskatchewan rivaled anything in Vancouver. The sound stages are amazing! The crews are fun loving, hard working, and among the most gracious people I have ever met. I would come back to film in Saskatchewan in a heart beat!” Amanda Tapping (Stargate, Sanctuary).

“It’s great to be back in Saskatchewan,” says Rob Merilees. “The crews are fantastic and the facilities are top notch.”

Production Companies: The film is a partnership between Rob Merilees (Just Friends, Stone of Destiny) of Vancouver-based Foundation Features, Holly Baird and Shayne Putzlocher (Vampire Dog, Hard Core Logo II) of Regina-based Trilight Entertainment and Robin Dunne. Executive producers are Tim Brown, Amanda Tapping, Billy Boyd and Kristin Kreuk. Written and directed by Armen Evrensel, the film stars Billy Boyd (Lord of the Rings), Kristin Kreuk (Smallville), Amanda Tapping (Stargate, Sanctuary) and Robin Dunne (Sanctuary).
